Comparing It

So, lots of my friends know I love chess. So does my family. And my teachers. And because of this, they often try to compare things to a chess game.
You want me to write this essay? "It's like a chess game, child, you do things now so that you have an advantage in the future."
You want me to exercise more? "It's like a chess game, you want to build up now for the advantage later."
You want me to make more friends, be more social? "It's like a chess game, you need to get in position now to take down your opponent later."

You know what?
Shut it. You're ruining the game for me.
